Hello Mr. Cryptic!! Good to see the Adventures of Ishtar back and a story where Ishtar is the star. Ishtar has been a supporting character a lot lately! Last year she disappeared, we didn't see Ishtar much in 2014!! Something new has been revealed about her powers! She doesn't have a defense against ultrasonic sound!! So this means Sonic Siren can beat Ishtar, since Ishtar has no defense against Sonic Siren power. So In the Lord Prospero saga Sonic Siren really didn't need Pitbull help to defeat Ishtar, she could have beat Ishtar by herself even if Ishtar was wearing her magical garments? Ishtar breast plate of protection doesn't protect Ishtar against a lot of things. Oh! I seen the cover for the next installment of The Adventures of Ishtar, I hope your not jumping on that whole bondage bandwagon thing! For me that would ruin the story!! It's one of the reasons I'm no longer have a hipcomix membership, can't stand bondage, I'm trying to say it nicely , but i hate bondage!! Bondage leads to torture, women suffering in pain and women being hurt!! I find bondage theme stories distasteful and disgusting!! Any story that has a bondage theme instantly turn me off!!

Hi CL - I'm not sure if Sonic Siren would be able to beat Ishtar or not. A hypnotic song would probably be more effective than a destructive vibratory blast. It's possible that the Buzzard's "squawk box" is more effective than Sonic Siren's song, but it's more limited in range. The Buzzard is kind of like a villain from the 60s Batman show. He makes or acquires weird devices that work because the plot says they work. It's not really about trying to make things makes sense. The Caesar Romero Joker built a machine that transfered surfing knowledge into his mind, so that he could be king of the beach. The squawk box is supposed to be about as realistic as that.

This comic is about bondage to about the same degree the Wonder Woman TV show was, or the Batman TV show was. Heroes get tied up a lot. Ishtar being chained up spread eagled is very directly taken from Wonder Woman in The Murderous Missile. Spoiler alert: Wonder Woman does get free! :) Likewise, Ishtar will probably not be the Buzzard's prisoner forever :) .

Thanks for letting us know your not going down that road that leads to torture that so many bondage stories usually leads too!! I'd be surprised those chains could hold Ishtar for long! Ishtar is wearing her girdle of power shouldn't that garment give her the strength to break those chains?? Isn't Ishtar suppose to be as strong as Brickhouse when wearing her girdle of power, I'm thinking Brickhouse could easily break those chains!! Are is Brickhouse stronger than Ishtar even when she is wearing her girdle of power?? As we are learning, even those Ishtar has many different powers when wearing her magical garments she is very beatable!! She's Surprisely beatable for a Goddess!!

Yes, Ishtar should be able to break ordinary chains easily. Similarly, in the Murderous Missile, the villain knocks out Wonder Woman with gas, then chains her inside a prison cell. When she wakes up, she just breaks the chains because she's Wonder Woman.

With Ishtar, you'll have to wait for the next update to see what happens!

Hello Mr. Cryptic!! Interesting installment!! First I was wondering how the Buzzard was going to keep Ishtar from breaking those chains, you hinted that if they were regular chains she could break them easily. Leading me to believe there was more to those chains than meets these eyes. But there really wasn't more to those chains, it was the orgone energy that was making her weak and keeping her from focusing. Is that something new? I don't remember orgone energy every being used, this is the first time I've heard of it! There was another thing that caught me by surprised, Ishtar thinking of Paul and saying his name and snaping one of the chains. I have been wondering what kind of effect Ishtar sleeping with Paul would have on her. I mean she was so concern about having sex with him at the beginning of the Prospero saga, she even stated she want to but couldn't, fearing she would lose herself to him. Making it seem like he would have some of kind hold on her!! Ishtar saying his name seem to make her focus. That something I'd like to see explored, how deep and strong is Paul hold on her?? His hold on her isn't something she trying to fight, she love the guy!
I know, I've said in the past that I'm not really into criminals mind controlling heroines or watching the heroines losing most of the time, (I'm not!) Over the years what has kept my interested is the sexy outfits the heroines wear, i have learned to deal with them having sex with their enemies to a point! ( I will always prefer the heroines have sex with a person of their own free will), not being mind controlled, that always take a lot of these enjoyment out of the scene for me!! One thing over the years I have always enjoyed is the relationship between Ishtar and Paul Barnes! To tell the truth their relationship is the thing that keep me coming back for more!! If I haven't said this before, i loved the way you slowly developed and revealed more and more about their relationship. When they finally got together, I was really happy for Ishtar!! I hope you continue to have stories that focus on them building a strong relationship!! It's the thing I most enjoy!! Just saw the cover for the next installment. Looking at the cover I have not idea where Ishtar is?? Is she at home sitting in a chair tanning or is she enslaved on the island of the villains? I hope Ishtar doesn't being come his slave!! He's had his moment with that darn squawk box, chaining her and using that orgone energy on her!! it's time for some payback!!!

I started to explore how Ishtar and Paul's relationship works in the Irkalla storyline over at HIP Comix, but I kind of let that story drop. In the two updates I did of that story, it showed that when Ishtar has sex with Paul, she becomes his mindless slave. Her love for him and openess to him causes her own powers to turn her into a slave. This lasts indefinitely, or until Paul tells her she is free again. So, in their day to day life, whenever they make love, Paul afterwards tells her she is free, and then she is freed from her own spell. Obviously, this means she has o trust Paul to free her, and she does. It's extremely pleasurable for her when she falls under his power, and Paul usually only frees her when she needs to go to work (on patrol, etc.).

I'm going to follow up on this later, but that's basically how it works.

Hello Mr. Cryptic! I really liked this series, Ishtar vs the Buzzard. This story was more like a main stream comic book story, the heroine get captured and it looks like she's going to be enslaved. She's chained and weakened by the orgone energy it seems there's no way she can escape. But Ishtar find the will and the strength to break her bonds and turns the table on the villain. I also like that Paul is playing more of a role than just being her boss. I like that at the end of her last several adventures she has been rewarded with some loving from her love Paul, not being some villain sex toy. I 'm impressed with how strong Ishtar is she can push a huge ship hundreds of miles!! But you can also see in the beginning of the story that Ishtar has a surprising weakness. Her breastplates of protection don't protect her from sonic sound! I really enjoyed the final scenes with Ishtar and Paul. I'm into Ishtar, I always like seeing Ishtar happy and Paul make her happy! I also think Paul had something to do with her finding the strength to break those chains!!! It looked like she was to weak to break those chains and was giving up hope until she thought of Paul, saying his name seemed to give her the push she needed to break those chains. Good installment enjoyed it!!
