Yes, this takes place before the Victory Legion series.

While Ishtar was under Prospero spell she shared her knowledge of magic with him and later provided him with the method of getting the prana he needed to power his spells. First since Ishtar can reach across time and space and travel to different dimensions, why wouldnt Prospero be able to do that? Second why doesn't Prospero know where the gate is? Didn't Ishtar Share all her knowledge with him, while she was under his spell? Since he has Ishtar magical knowledge and he is more skills at using magic than Ishtar, he did defeat Ishtar ever time they faced off, wouldn't he know where the gate is? She did said everything I have is yours, when Ishtar was his slave!! I've been meaning to ask those questions, but I keep forgetting.
Prospero didn't learn every last thing that Ishtar knows, just some of her magical knowledge. He focused mainly on spells relating to domination and erotic technique. Prospero didn't defeat Ishtar everytime. At the end of the Prospero saga, she defeated him (Panthera Khan getting Prospero while he was having sex with Ishtar was Ishtar's plan).
At the end of the Prospero saga was the first time Ishtar out smarted Prospero!! But everytime Prospero and Ishtar faced off face to face in a show down of magical skills Ishtar lost, even when Prospero was a (novice)!! Through out the whole Prospero saga he showed he was smarter and more skilled at using magic than Ishtar, even those Ishtar was supposed to be the big gun when it came to magic. As least for me , Prospero is the big gun now when it come to magic!! Ishtar is second best or maybe third best when it come to skill, the new girl on the block may be more skilled at using magic than Ishtar. Ishtar may not even be third, she may be the least skilled of any of the magic user, she may not be able to defeat any of the guild's magic user!! Even those Ishtar may have more magical knowledge and magical powers, she hasn't been shown to be very skilled at using her magical powers!! Prospero being the prime example!! You said Prospero was supposed to be the big gun when it come to the villains!! I think Prospero is the biggest gun of all !! be it villain or hero!! None of the heroes can face him one on one and win, to include Ishtar, she needed help!! He's in another league !! Lord Prospero is the most powerful being in the Crypticverse, as least to me, not Ishtar, after seeing her in this saga I wouldn't say Ishtar is the greatest hero, i'd say Ishtar is in the middle of the pack!! As least for me, Ishtar wasn't the hero I believed her to be!! For me Ishtar was a real disappointment for most of the Lord Prospero Saga. I wouldn't be honest if i didn't say that this saga didn't make me think less of Ishtar as heroine!!
Ishtar has been headlined as this powerful goddess and the heroine that all the villains should fear, and that heroes trust and believe in!! (But this saga proved there's nothing special about Ishtar as a hero!!) I know Ishtar plan worked out in the end. But Ishtar never defeated Prospero when they face off face to face with her magical skills, Prospero always won!! She had to be saved thru out the whole saga by her fellow heroes. Again for me, you have played Ishtar up to be the most powerful heroine in the world and the Queen of the Gods!! How can Ishtar be said to be the greatest hero of them all, when she couldn't handled a guy who started out as a simple (novice) mage ????
I've even looked up the word (novice), it means (new), (inexperienced), (beginner)!! Ishtar couldn't handle a (beginner)!!! (I still love Ishtar and she is my favorite character)!! But, it is a big deal to me that a Goddess with her years of training, her years of experience, her magical knowledge and her power level, looked not very smart, unskilled, and was made to look like a minor league sorceress and hero by a (novice) mage!! I also felted the same way about the ROD story, with the American Goddess getting defeated by a (powerless) thug. This is the big reason why I don't think she's very good at being a hero. As least for me, a Goddess, a being with her magical powers and magical knowledge should be able to defeat foes like theses!!
Interesting update!! Is Brickhouse finally admitting she like to be mind controlled by the villains!! It explain why it seem she's always attacking her fellow heroes!! Over the few years I've been follow her adventures she's always worked for the villains against the heroes, she has always been the play toy of any villain she has faced, being only able to beat their henchmen never the main villain. This is a question I've always ask about Brickhouse is she really a hero or does she really want to be the slave of a villain?? Is she really a hero or want to be super villain??
