Due to real life situations and some production delays, the February 15th update of "The Trap" has been moved to the 20th. Everything is now moving forward and the update will be ready by that date. The cover in the cover gallery has been updated and reflects the 'correct' information about the update. Please pay extra special attention to the changes.

Hey McComix fans,

Sorry for the slight delays on the update but real life and overtime at work put a hamper of things. Thanks be to MacroLass for helping out in the pinch. I pitched her the storyline for the update and she wrote the pages in order to get this update done. I think she did a marvelous job and am looking forward to seeing more of her talents put out there for people to see. :)

Synopsis:
To be added later

With that said, here is the update - http://www.mccomix.com/members/gallery2 ... emId=30370

Hi there Dumbtime!

This is your best chapter yet and the waiting was worth it! I love Digitalu’s smugness, he is clearly showing Freedom Girl his superiority by stating that he knows his secret identity, Paula Revere, and that she has been “captured”, and his captor is not even there. The part with the small electronic device was cool too, I don’t like violence upon the heroines, but I loved how those electrodes will break Freedom Girl’s resistance. And the mention of “tentacle porn” and Fergie’s rap music! (“Kill me, kill meeee!”). You can take away Freedom Girl’s liberty, but you will never take her sense of humor!

I also loved how these strange devices between Freedom Girl’s legs didn’t do the obvious thing, but taking advantage of her own secret desires. Now I want to ask, if they are secrets, how Digitalus knew? It was something that those electrodes discovered?
The best par was page 13, when Freedom girl discovers had an orgasm against her will, and then when they force her to grope herself. All of that so she can accept her new programming.

The last part is a surprise for Digitalis and for me! I didn’t realize that the trap was never for Freedom Girl, but for Paula Revere! And Digitalis didn’t knew her secret identity. So this was right! The trap was designed for Paula and not for Freedom Girl, and so Freedom Girl is not a total waste as a superheroine! Thank you, you are the best.

So, I really want to congratulate you for this concept of a trap. I really enjoyed to discover that you give Freedom Girl the respect she deserved and it was my fault for believing you considered her dumb. Also, the idea of a trap designed to catch and convert someone in your slave is great!

Now what would Digitalus do? How he will manage this disturbing discovery? Is even a bad thing to discover the girl you have enslaved is a superheroine? I will love to discover further developments.

Congratulations to you and Macrolass. One more doubt: What are the duties of a “production assistant” of a comic book?

Hi Hector2!

As you've already learned, Digitalus was unaware of Paula's secret. I thought about letting you in on that little plot twist when you'd brought it up in earlier messages but I decided to let you (and others who read the forums) be surprised by this plot twist.

I have to admit that I hadn't originally visualized those devices looking so...dildo-like...but the constraints of time and the program put them into that form. I'm glad the visual worked for you though, as long as it gets the point across, that's the important thing.

No apology here, I enjoy banter and witty repartee. Clever characters like Spider-Man, the Beast, and Nightcrawler who chatter away during a fight might not be "realistic" but I like the idea of the fighting occuring on multiple levels.

How did Digitalus know such intimate details about her? What will he do next? I guess you'll have to wait for the next issue to find out!

Well remember that in addition to this being before 'Ensnared' that this is also a prequel to 'Slave to a Nation'. This is his first test of the process that he would eventually use on Freedom Broad/American Amazon...and from there, the other women in Brainwashed.

"Production Assistant" can mean various things depending on who is doing the credits but for our purposes it makes reference to the fact that I made specific suggestions about the PHYSICAL composition of the comic: ie composition and placing of panels, captions, and various effects. So far I think my partnership with Dumbtime has been a boon for both of us and I hope that we'll be able to continue to be part of the MCcomix line for a long time to come.

Dear MacroLass:

Thanks for taking the time to answer my post (so soon!)

It’s interesting to know that about the devices, I don’t know much about 3d artists, but I think you have to “buy” any component you need, and so you had to go with those, hadn’t you?

I’m really all for witty banter! After all, this is a superheroine comic book. I don’t like “realistic” settings in comic books because, unless that is the whole point (like Watchmen or Batman Year One” is to show realistic consequences for superheroes. If you take the fun out for superheroes (like the batman 60’s tv series or the cartoon The Brave and the Bold) only is left teen angst (The Dark Knight is taking itself seriously a little too much).

I’ll wait for the answer’s next issue, but only have a doubt: How Digitalus let Freedom Girl go? It has something to do with being a superheroine? It was safer for an evil government flunky to let her go? What would he feel that he learns about Paula’s fate as a R.O.P.E. wife?

I think the composition is very important: I have find comics that would have been awesome if some caption didn’t have obscured some character.

So, if you could have gotten your way, how could have been those devices (those that look like dildos) showed? What would have been their look?

Hector2:

Well I'm not an artist (nor have I played one on TV ;) ) but you pretty much have it right. Now obviously there IS a way of making new objects and bodies for Poser/Daz/whatever since there are forums and even businesses making them but I'm sure it involves a much different set of skills than manipulating complete forms. I'll admit that I was kind of surprised that there wasn't anything out there that matched my original vision but you have to make do with what's at hand.

The original thought was something along the lines of a molded seat covering both asscheeks. There'd be restraints and padding along the outsides for the legs. The object was that the legs could be forcibly separated ala a gynecological exam in sort of a modified stirrups setup, keeping her sitting instead of putting her in a lithomy (reclining) position. That would have provided the massage. The shocking stimulus would have come from a thin and wandlike device like one of the "sparking" electrodes in Frankenstein's lab.

Then again, kudoes to Dumbtime for making it work with what was at hand. Don't even get me started on the probe that placed the EEG leads on her.... I had no idea when I started about some of the technical limitations.

I think you need a bit of all of the elements: humor, drama, pathos, wit, and the erotic elements to make a good story. I'm hoping to reflect that in my future work here...

The simple answer to your question about next issue is "Why can't he just let her go?" One of the benefits of not giving someone huge boobs, glowing white eyes, and/or metallic skin when you control them (not that there's anything wrong with that ;) ) means that there's no outward sign that they've been affected. And if you command them to "just act normally until I contact you again" they'll go out and resume their previous lives, leaving no one like their friends or family the wiser what's happened to them. The particulars of Doctor Digitalus' "Catch and Release Program" <smirk> are a mystery to me for the moment (I haven't seen the next script yet) so I guess we'll both be finding out...

Hmmm...gosh, that is an interesting question. How WOULD he feel when he hears about his projects with American Amazon and Freedom Girl being co-opted? Someone really should write a story with that as a plot element... /sarcasm

There is a story in the works that will involve Doctor D. as a character where he expresses his feelings about that. I could tell you more but then I'd have to...well, you know the rest.

Have to say that I'm really loving the trap. I love seeing superheroines falling into such diabolicaly thought out captures.
Thanks for clarifying that this is before 'Slave to a Nation'. I'd been wondering about that. And you've now got me wondering if there was more to the situation in 'Ensnared' than first meets the eye. Could it be partially because of some sort of secret programming that caused Freedom Girl to so easily fall into another villain's clutches? It's now certainly a consideration.

Was interesting to peek behind the curtains, into just how difficult it is to get what you originally envision in poseur stories. I think a lot of people don't appreciate the work that goes into the creation of these tales. But I'm glad that it came out close enough to what you were thinking of. Can't wait to see where it all goes next..Keep up the great work! :)
