Dear MCtek:

This is my favorite comic in this site... well, you know that, but this issue was extra awesome:

1. Kitten seems to know who Von Ick is, but not Kikka?
2. Ah yes, the prophecy: something so vague to convince the hero he has a destiny. However, why Kitten (and us) must trust anything Von Ick says?
3. Has Von Ick confessed he came from the Future? How can he know that, unless he has mastered time travel? Oh, and doesn’t Von Ick remember you of Dr. Mengele? Experimenting with DNA of a stillborn?
4. The perfect individual? Von Ick seems like a Nazi…
5. I just love Kitten: An heroine inside a plastic prison, pressing her hands against the villain? Great! And the new zombot uniform is great looking too!
6. A live feed for the heroine to see he friend conversion in her own cage? Man, Von Ick thinks on everything!
7. Well, this comic answers one of my questions: What would be the destiny of the heroines Clarissa got. Von Ick would not have let them on Metrobay.
8. How could Metrobay be in chaos without heroines and without villains? And if Von Ick get Kitten’s allies, how could they become they allies? This seems like a self-fulfilled prophecy.
9. He he he he, I love when the villains gloats and something foreshadows his ruin. It seems that Von Ick achieved true perfection with Miranda (I get it, Miranda).
10. Page 14 show us the time travel tense trouble: It’s Von Ick talking about past or future? And Boom Boom trapping someone? As Von Ick says, nobody could have thought she could pull it out, but she will show us, won’t she?
11. Agent Cross seems even more beautiful here than any previous version.
12. Ishtar being attracted by the “love bouy”? Man, this is a surprise! Great

This is my favorite comic, I have been waiting this two weeks to read it and it was worth it! More questions than answers but that’s ok! Your work rules! Congratulations!
PD: I have more comments, but those are enough for a first post ;)

Wow! So many questions answered and yet so many new questions. What happened with Terra makes sense. Gotta wonder how Von Ick got his hands on the time-traveling Agent Cross.

It will be interesting to see what role Ishtar plays in the story. One question, What is this "Love Buoy" their using to attract her??

Ok I have to comment on this series. This story looks to be awesome!
Clarissa/Miranda is a great complex character. She's now both hero and villain. And with her being Ick's protege' no one will fully trust her again, ever.
I like the comment "Miranda is everything I've worked hard to create", makes you wonder if she's the first in a line of Ick stock. It'd be kind of neat if Ick could go one further and use the technology to modify captives to 'become' his daughters. Of course that to me would be at least one step beyond mind control.
In pages 1, 2, & 14 it appears that Von Ick is both trying to avoid something in the future and making use of something that would have been used in the future (the love bouy). Can't wait to see what that is.
And Von Ick's comment about needing to research the nefarious types of the era smell of timetravel or someone who's be in stasis for awhile.
Agent Cross as a zombot is just plain lovely.

Pg 15 - Ick Hulk? Now there's a oddity! Wonder if we'll see Ick Hulk and Shelly together in the future.

As for the upcoming issues:
#2 - love the pic of Miranda in front of what is probably a defeated Ishtar. From the slight smile on her face she looks like a proud kid bringing something they're made to their parents. Mmmm...
#3 - Wow, just wow! Just from the looks of the cover this may be one of my favorite issues if it holds what the cover hints, no, blatantly declares. May 31 can't get here fast enough. Hope she's not the only one brought into this frame-of-mind.

Keep-em-coming!

Allow me, as semi-official Keeper of the Chronology, to answer a question:

1. Von Ick was known to be operating at least into the last few years: Valiant Woman escaped from his island a few years ago. Kikka Brust, as far as practically everyone outside the inner circle of ROPE knows, was last seen in 1946. There'd be no particular reason (aside from an interest in history) to know who she was. And even if she knew about Gothikka (which may be unlikely...there are very few who do know about her who aren't bad guys or her secretly enslaved thralls), again there's only a handful of people who are aware of that connection.

An afterthought to go with my earlier post.
What is the timeline in relation to Victory City #26 as Ishtar is only Maria Jones at that point in time.

That hasn't been established (and might never be, depending on what's mentioned in this story and what authors write in the future). Think of it like the big established comics. When Superman shows up in Gotham in a Batman Family comic, it isn't necessarily the same time as what's happening in the Superman issues printed that same month, nor coincident with what's happening in Justice League that month when both of them are showing up.

and Q&A time!

1. Kitten seems to know who Von Ick is, but not Kikka?

As Teckno stated, Ick should be in the history books, at the same he announced himself to her, part of the whole monologue thing villians like to do :D As for Kikka aka Gothikka, not really everyone knows about her.

2. Ah yes, the prophecy: something so vague to convince the hero he has a destiny. However, why Kitten (and us) must trust anything Von Ick says?

Yes, but alot of famous teams have come together because of said vagueness.

3. Has Von Ick confessed he came from the Future? How can he know that, unless he has mastered time travel? Oh, and doesn’t Von Ick remember you of Dr. Mengele? Experimenting with DNA of a stillborn?

You mean a newborn? I wanna say Chi Calico was around 4 weeks with Miranda when he altered her. Ick has mastered many things ^_^

4. The perfect individual? Von Ick seems like a Nazi…

http://metrobay.wetpaint.com/page/Feelix+Von+Ick he's pretty much been after the perfect individual.

5. I just love Kitten: An heroine inside a plastic prison, pressing her hands against the villain? Great! And the new zombot uniform is great looking too!

Thanks, had to go thru a few design choices before i got Doc's approval on it :P Yeah Kitten isn't much for tears atm.

6. A live feed for the heroine to see he friend conversion in her own cage? Man, Von Ick thinks on everything!

Just about, he is one of the most foremost leaders in tech for Metrobay. So alot of ppl are still using his technology.

7. Well, this comic answers one of my questions: What would be the destiny of the heroines Clarissa got. Von Ick would not have let them on Metrobay.

They're currently living lives not their own, most are a far shoot from who they were before.

8. How could Metrobay be in chaos without heroines and without villains? And if Von Ick get Kitten’s allies, how could they become they allies? This seems like a self-fulfilled prophecy.

Metrobay is in chaos due to a Turf war, with some villians gone, and more heroines missing, the balance has been messed up, so what "Clarissa" was trying to do made things worse then better. Which worked out better for Ick as the chaos allows him to do his work in peace. Agent Cross is the key sir.

9. He he he he, I love when the villains gloats and something foreshadows his ruin. It seems that Von Ick achieved true perfection with Miranda (I get it, Miranda).

Glad you did ^_^

10. Page 14 show us the time travel tense trouble: It’s Von Ick talking about past or future? And Boom Boom trapping someone? As Von Ick says, nobody could have thought she could pull it out, but she will show us, won’t she?

Only time will tell.....

11. Agent Cross seems even more beautiful here than any previous version.

:P I'm betting it's the see thru outfit.

12. Ishtar being attracted by the “love bouy”? Man, this is a surprise! Great

Kind like a lure, you bait it and watch the boobies come to you.

thanks again all for your feedback and support, come them coming and i'll try to answer as best i can!

Dear McTek:

Another issue of my favorite comic is here, and I am getting anxious to see next issue, but first:

About your inhability to draw Ishtar costume, I must say that anyone using that costume in real life would not look realistic.

Page 1: Another cryptic reference (Cryptic, get it?) to a monster rampage thru Metrobay. Could be the clone incident?

Page 2: Zombot Island can move? Why, Von Ick has resources or what?

Page 3: An artificial Island? This is getting better. When was constructed, I wonder? Maybe in the future?

Page 4: Overwhelming Isthar with Prana? You can’t do with TODAY’s tech, but in the future…

Page 6: With only a caption box, you have managed to convince me why someone as powerful as Ishtar would fall for a trap so obvious. Your storytelling skills progress more and more!

Page 8: No matter how many times I have seen this kind of scenes in comics, Miranda manages to capture the heroine and even more important, look cool doing it!

Page 9 and 10: I think the strategically advantage that this site had over others is that they use pleasure and no pain to control the heroines. This was certainly a great trap, fitting to a goddess.

Page 11 to 13: And so we have a chance to see agent Prowl. Von Ick has no much imagination for codenames, doesn’t he? And your skill with dialogue is great, really Ishtar sounds regal!

Page 15: When did Agent Cross intimately knew Pink Pussy… ah yes, maybe that hasn’t happened yet! ;)

Page 16: Does Max has a Pink Pussycat clone? Has appeared before?

Page 18: A perfect body needs a perfect lover… That sounds like “Frankenstein”, “I want a mate”… and it’s perfectly logical…

Page 20: And who could be Miranda’s favorite zombot? Could be RingMistress? If so, the situation would have changed indeed, the enslaver becomes the enslaved.

Now some comments:

1. What happened with Babydoll and Deelisha? They are pretty competent and I think those two had enough talent to discover Von Ick conspiracy and report it to Max.

2. As we saw, having a perfect body is not all it’s cracked up to be. As a matter of fact, it would be very frustrating, a real curse. From Miranda to Frankenstein?

3. Your work rules and this is my favorite comic. I really don’t get what is the problem with your depiction of Ishtar. I could say it’s my favorite, his face is so beautiful at page 13.

Hello MCtek!! As i stated before i'm a big fan of Mr.Cryptic's comix!! My favorate character from his comics is Ishtar!! So you know i was excited to see her appearing in another artist comics, just to see how she would be used. I thought the story of her being capture was truth to form, using her weaknesses against her, her prana!! I thought the artwork was good, she looked as sexy as ever!! But i wouldn't be honest if i didn't say i like Mr. Cryptic version of her better. one thing that was different is when she is usually overloaded with her prana, she become very horny and only want sex with the closest male. I've never seen her pass out from to much pleasure. Another thing that is different, most villains that defeat Ishtar always want to know what it feel like to have sex with a love Goddess!! He doesn't seem to be interest in that,It seem he only want power!!

It will intersting to see how he will use Ishtar powers now that he has her under his control, she has the power to control people desires, thoughts and has vast magical powers! looking foward to the next installment!!

Hi all! Really fun to see my characters get to play in another author's story :) !

In regards to continuity, I'm figuring that Island of Zombot either takes place after the current storyline with Ishtar is resolved (minor spoiler: Ishtar does come back.), or it takes place between Victory City #21 and Adventures of Ishtar #1. Since Island of Zombot is the first real intersection between the Metrobay and Victory City, we have some flexibility in how we interpret it.

Also, it was neat to see Ishtar getting her breastplate stolen. In the original mythology, Ishtar gets her seven divine garments stripped away as she enters the underworld, rendering her powerless. I've always intended that getting her magical garments stripped off to be a weakness of Ishtar, but haven't really used it much. So it was cool to see it here.

From the wiki :
The gatekeeper lets Ishtar into the underworld, opening one gate at a time. At each gate, Ishtar has to shed one article of clothing. When she finally passes the seventh gate, she is naked. In rage, Ishtar throws herself at Ereshkigal, but Ereshkigal orders her servant Namtar to imprison Ishtar and unleash sixty diseases against her.
After Ishtar descends to the underworld, all sexual activity ceases on earth.

That might make for an interesting storyline in the Metrobay universe. I could imagine that Firstborn's FallenStar or the Demon that changed her wanting to enslave Ishtar and thus bind all sexual activity on earth to them (in effect controlling the whole world). Or the inhabitants of earth would no longer desire sex at all.

MCtek I personally love your model of Ishtar. I really only like to see shiny bodies on the doll-type characters, aliens, etc. She looks more human so-to-speak with the skin type you've given her. It just helps my belief in the character.

I'm counting the days till May 31. Hope you put up some more covers soon.

sohta brings up a tricky point for me. I generally have a scientific concept of how the natural universe works. If sex works according to natural principles of biology, then I have trouble figuring out what it means for Ishtar to be a sex goddess? I'm not entirely sure. I guess I'm figuring that sex follows natural priniciples, but Ishtar can alter those principles when she wants to. I tend to think of Ishtar as an exceptionally powerful superheroine, but not necessarily in a different class from other superhumans.

I'm not sure what would happen to sexual activity on Earth if Ishtar died or was somehow neutralized (can she die?). I'll have to discuss that with theh other MC and HIP writers!

On the issue of the character's skin, I use a script called the V4 Skin Realism Kit. I turn the oiliness dial way up. My inspiration for my characters comes more from figure and fitness models who tend to be oiled up to show off their curves, so that's the way I depict them. I like MCtek's version of Ishtar too.
