My apologies for for the delay, but it's up now. Here's the synopsis:

From the pages of MCcomix.com, Doctor Robo and Finister Foul proudly present “Grime City Stories: The Girl Next Door” chapter 1!

http://www.mccomix.com/gallery2/main.ph ... emId=18752

Marvin Quimby isn’t your typical happy-go-lucky college kid. In fact, his life kinda sucks. He still lives at home while all his friends have their own apartments on campus. Girls don’t want to hang out with a guy who rarely has a moment to himself. Even his part-time job is the pits. His hottie stepmom got him an internship with one of the biggest companies in town, yet the people there treat him like dirt and barely know his name.

But at the end of every rainstorm there is the first ray of sunlight. Next door lives the lovely and kind Liz Trance, newly single after her supervillain pervert husband was busted and carted off to jail. Marvin has had a crush on Liz since the day she moved in, and thinks now is his chance to DO something with his boring old life…

A good robotization or dollification is in order I think:).

Totally my fault for the delay. My bad, folks. This issue had a lot of fun little easter eggs to add in.

I added a few of them in the freebies gallery in full-size for you all to check out.

Yeah, minor note, but I suspect a legit website would not announce that the company was founded by a "cabal" of scientists. That's roughly equivalent to the FBI announcing that a conspiracy of its agents successfully infiltrated the mob and arrested some major criminals.

Years have passed since that fateful day when Marvin witnessed what a sad affair the Trances’ marriage really was. Determined to win the affection of his newly-single boyhood crush, Marvin has spent his time studying to become one of the finest young minds Metrobay has to offer. He has even invented something that could literally change lives, but first he has to find some poor soul to try it out on.

By the way, did we mention that Marvin has a VERY sexy new stepsister, and doesn’t really get along with her all that well…?

Have to throw out the compliment when it's in order. Love the use of the surrealistic background on panel #22. Granted, it's a textbook example for using it, but when I'm going through the series of panels, it is great. A Kudo's bar for you guys on that one.

Thanks! The kudos go to Trishbot. She's the mad genius behind all of the effects you see in this story. We couldn't do it without her!

We’ll keep this short and to the point this week. Marvin has invented a computer program that can hypnotize people. Marvin’s sexy, busty neighbor Liz likes working out to exercise videos. Marvin has figured out how to turn his mind control program into subliminal messages. Marvin’s stepmom is getting rid of some old workout DVDs. Suddenly, Marvin has a gift for Liz…

Sorry I haven't posted this. Life be busy. :P Anyway, great issue! Liz Trance is such a hot character. And I noticed that they live on a street that's oddly named... Almost familiar... Hmm... Anywho, next issue is shaping to be a hot one.

I was wondering if anyone would catch onto that. There are a few such shout-outs in this story. I'm a little surprised that you're the first to mention one!

Awww.. Poor Gal.. ;) Looks like marrying into the name of 'Trance' has just doomed her in the eyes of fate! Must be nerve racking living in Metrobay, as even when you're minding your own business and avoiding super-heroing, you can still get turned into a mind controlled pet of the teen next door!

That was actually one of the reasons why I wanted to write this particular story. You'll notice there are no superpowers anywhere to be found. I wanted to show that there is more to Metrobay than just superheroines and supervillains, and not all of the sexy women in town are members of the Superheroine Squad!

Marvin has hypnotized Liz into thinking that she loves him more than anyone she’s ever loved before. But just how far would she go to demonstrate her affection for him? She wouldn’t do THAT… would she?
